Tombs of the Kings in Paphos

Tombs of the Kings in Paphos

Tried our best to get up and out early today, but despite best efforts it was 9.15 before we left for the Tombs of the Kings in Paphos. Strangely for us, we found it without too much fuss. Now usually I enjoy a slice of culture, but I found this one difficult. The Tombs are on a large site and this time of year it was just too hot, Lucy and I found it difficult so must have been worse from the kids. Kahra’s “once you have seen one hole you have seen them all” probably summed up our collective feelings. We left after couple of hours, with much of the site left to see.

The coast road between Paphos and Polis

Just north of Paphos is the tourist area of Coral Bay, we checked out the beach first which looked good, then went back to the main strip where Lucy picked out a good looking “traditional” restaurant, apparently this was the 1st restaurant built in Coral Bay.

Glad this is not our local beach, 2 sun beds €7.50, half hour on a slid boat €20, a can of soft drink at the beach bar €2. All other beaches we have been to so far the sun beds and showers have been free.We learnt our lesson from the other day and moored the slide boat to a buoy, much more relaxing than paddling all the time and Lucy and I both had the time to have a slide as well!!

Time teaching Kahra to snorkel in the pool the other night was well spent and she loved snorkelling in the sea around the rocks and spotting the few fish that were there.

Went to Latchi harbour on the way back and booked a speedboat for 5 and a half hours tomorrow Smile.

We stopped at the supermarket in Polis to get some BBQ food and then had a relaxing meal in, a swim in the pool and a bit of jacuzzi time.
