Today was the first day of our weeks sailing "adventure" on the Norfolk Broads.
Crew: Me, Glen, Kahra (age 10), and Lex.
We arrived reasonably early at the boatyard (Norfolk Broads Yachting Company) based in the center of Horning. After checking in , we had sometime before our boat (Twighlight) was ready, so my unanimous decision we decided to make the best use of our time, and made our way to The New Inn for "refreshments".
If memory serves me correctly we were promised at the time of booking a two hour sailing lesson before departing so that us 1st time sailors would be completely confident. Maybe I misunderstood, whatever, in reality this turned out to be a quick ten minute lesson, consisting of how to raise and lower the mast and a couple times, and a few other basics. Thus, with some trepidation we started the engine, left the relative safety of the yard, and motored to Little Hoveton Broad (Black Horse) to teach ourselves the basics of sailing.
From there we went on to Salhouse Broad, this is the Broad with a nice beach that I remembered from our previous years holiday on the Gin Palace. Had our 1st BBQ.
