Le Bateaux
It has been over 20 years since I last travelled on the River Yare all the way to Norwich, so part of the plan this year was to explore this river. We had an early start today as we needed to arrive at Great Yarmouth at low tide which was at 10am. We left at 8am and motored all the way to the Burney Arms without a stop, where we had lunch.
In the afternoon we stopped at Reedham. We had coffee and ice cream at the tea rooms and a real ale at the Lord Nelson Pub.
We moored at Rockland St Mary Staithe off Rockland Broad for the night. The staithe is at the end of a long narrow stretch of river that it would be difficult to turn around in. I’m sure this puts a lot of people off as at the end is one of the quietest peaceful moorings that I have come across.
Hot dogs for tea and then made time a quick visit to the New Inn Rockland St Mary, would be rude not to!!
